When you consider the sale of your property it can be quite annoying to think you are paying a commission for the sale and then you have to pay advertising on top!  Why is this, and what really is essential?

Advertising is sourced from external contributors, the NZ Herald, a professional photographer and any other advertising you might consider - this is why it costs money. Beware of an agent that offers to pay for this at the outset as it will cost you somewhere - in the photos or the focus of your agent (who will be keen to sell your house quickly to ensure his or her money is returned by way of you paying a commission). 

The extent of advertising you choose is entirely up to you. The best sale is a matter of getting all of the best buyers through your home so all marketing avenues should be considered - you really don't want to look back and ask yourself if there was anything else you could have done to extract other buyers that may have paid more money.
